Foundry Sports Medicine and Fitness has developed partnerships with some of the local high schools to provide a weekly sports clinic for the student athletes suffering from injuries. The Athletic Trainer will evaluate the injured athlete and determine the appropriate actions to be taken. The Athletic Trainer will set up a treatment program for the athlete or triage them to the appropriate medical provider depending on the severity of the injury. The Athletic Trainer will be able to "fast track" the athlete to one of our orthopedic physicians if necessary.
How the Clinic Works
- When an injury occurs, the coach will contact the clinic and/or Athletic Trainer via phone or email to set up a time for the student athlete to be evaluated during the upcoming Sports Clinic
- The Sports Clinic is NOT a Physical Exam for pre-participation clearance.
- Injury follow-ups will be scheduled for the upcoming week with the Athlete before leaving the Sports Clinic; athletes will be held accountable for following up with the Athletic Trainer and proper injury compliance based on the Athletic Trainers' plan of care.
