andrea Penacho


Andrea joined the Foundry Hand Clinic Team in August of 2014. She graduated from Quinnipiac University in 1997 where she received her bachelors of science in Occupational Therapy with a minor in graphic arts. She has specialized in treating upper extremity patients in an outpatient setting her entire career. Her clinical interests include traumatic, post­operative, and repetitive stress injuries. She has advanced clinical skills in manual therapy techniques, wound care, work related injuries and rehabilitation, sports injuries, ergonomics and custom splint fabrication. 

Andrea is licensed in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts and has been a clinical instructor for both Occupational Therapist and Occupational Therapist Assistant students. She has taken continuing education coursework in splinting techniques, manual therapy, soft tissue and joint mobilization, ergonomics, home modifications and advanced treatment techniques for hand, wrist and elbow injuries. She enjoys taking a "hands on" approach with all of her patients. 

Outside of work, Andrea enjoys watching sports and shopping.
